When the Holy Spirit ignites a spark within us, it is never meant to remain contained. Its purpose is to spread—bringing warmth, light, and life to those around us. We are called to share the transforming love of Christ that first set our own hearts ablaze.
In today’s workplace, “company culture” has become something of a buzzword. Three years ago, after I started a new job, I quickly realized the culture was not what I was accustomed to. Instead of being discouraged, I saw opportunity and potential in people who simply needed to be reignited, reminded of not only what they do, but who they ultimately serve.
I began introducing small and intentional changes—simple acts like making pancakes for the team or encouraging more frequent gatherings. My supervisor supported the vision, though his responsibilities limited his ability to implement it directly. So, I listened—to my heart and to God—and stepped forward in faith to help elevate the spirit of the workplace.
Over time, something began to shift. Participation in events grew. Chili cook-offs, holiday spirit weeks, monthly team lunches, and other activities became moments people genuinely anticipated. It wasn’t a sudden transformation, but a steady, meaningful change. Conversations increased. Laughter became more common. People connected across departments, asked questions, and showed a renewed sense of engagement.
When we remember that our work is ultimately for our Father, we not only strengthen our community—we help illuminate the path for others. And in doing so, we take our greatest steps forward.
