December President’s Note

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:2-4)

What a year 2020 has been. The phrase “2020” is often used to describe perfect vision, and perhaps this year has made it clearer than ever that our truth, hope, and salvation lie in Christ alone. The epistle of James provides a timeless reminder to pray for joy in facing trials with faith and perseverance. Come Holy Spirit!

Our God is an awesome God, and he has used both adversity and opportunity to transform Christians in Commerce to WorkLight over the past year. Coronavirus pushed staff to bring elements of our ministry online as fast as possible in the form of Working for Our Father and WorkLight StoryNights. Protests and politics called us to pray together on national calls and in small groups across the country—and even around the world. Throughout and in between so many blessings and challenges we seek to answer the call to serve the Lord with joy.

This might be the first you’ve heard of WorkLight or perhaps you were on the first Challenge Weekend in 1983. You might be an occasional reader in Asia or a Chapter President here in the USA. Whether you are just getting to know us or you are one of the generous donors who makes this work possible—we give thanks to God that you are a part of this movement of the Spirit.

May the good Lord be with you in this final month of our first year together as WorkLight. Merry Christmas! Glory!

God bless,

Wesley Farrow

  1. It was good to have you join us this past Wednesday at our Santa Cruz, CA chapter meeting. How’s your daughter’s new puppy doing?
