The Coworker Challenge

10 Days of Encouragement and Accountability

Many have experienced Spirit-fueled transformation in the sacred space of a WorkLight Challenge Weekend. But what happens when you re-enter normal life, and more specifically, the routine of the work week?

Welcome to the Coworker Challenge – a new WorkLight experience designed to help keep the fire from a Challenge Weekend burning brightly.

How the Coworker Challenge Works

two men walking and talking

Beginning Monday morning after a Challenge Weekend, you and your Emmaus Walk Coworker will receive an email for two consecutive work-weeks. Each email will contain content from WorkLight designed to inspire conversation and connection with your Emmaus Coworker.

Often, pairings include someone new to the ministry (an igniter) with an experienced WorkLight person (a re-igniter). This is by design. Like Paul and Timothy’s relationship in scripture, it can be a powerful way to experience growth and transformation in your relationship with God for both Coworkers.

Getting More from the Coworker Challenge

Your job is twofold:

  1. Take a few minutes to reflect on the daily content. Dedicate some heart and mind space to consider the message, focus on any featured scripture, and pray.
  2. Connect with your Emmaus Coworker via phone, FaceTime, text, or in-person meeting to discuss the daily topic and pray for each other with this question in mind: Lord, what changes are you asking us to make so we can walk with you more closely, and shine brighter for you at work?

The end goal of the Coworker Challenge is both simple and powerful: to foster ongoing brotherhood and sisterhood, and to build the WorkLight community so we truly shine for Christ.

May the glory and light of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit lead us into God’s will as we “taste and see that the Lord is good!” (Psalm 34:8)
