A Willing Heart for the Work Ahead
A willing heart has always been the beginning of God’s work among His people. Before the Lord expands a ministry, He expands the hearts of those who serve. We see this clearly throughout the book of Acts.
In Acts 2, the early believers were filled with the Holy Spirit.
In Acts 6, that Spirit-filled community was formed into new leadership and new structures to support God’s growing work.
And in Acts 26, the church was sent outward, commissioned to open eyes and turn people from darkness to light.
This pattern matters, especially today.
In Acts Chapter 6, as the early church grew, new challenges emerged between the Hebraic and Hellenistic believers. The apostles did not withdraw or hand off responsibility. Instead, they leaned in and called the community to raise up new leaders who were full of the Spirit and wisdom and willing to serve.
Their willingness created space for Stephen, Philip, and others to rise. Their leadership did not replace the apostles. It extended and strengthened the ministry so the word of God could increase and the number of disciples could multiply.
Later, in Acts 26, Paul describes his commissioning from the Lord: “I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light.” This is not only Paul’s mission. It is the heart of WorkLight. Each Challenge Weekend is a place where the Spirit opens eyes. Each small group and chapter becomes a place where light pushes back darkness in the workplace.
As we arrive at February 6, 2026, this pattern from Acts is not theoretical for us. It is timely.
For this reason, WorkLight is turning toward a new milestone in 2026:
26 Challenge Weekends in 2026 – Acts 26.
This is not simply a numeric goal. It reflects the biblical pattern we see in Acts. As God raises up new leaders and new regions, the ministry grows and strengthens. But just as in the early church, this growth only flourishes when seasoned leaders lean in rather than step back.
Your wisdom, encouragement, experience, and faithfulness are essential. You are the ones who bless emerging leaders, resource them, walk with them, and help them succeed. New leaders do not diminish the role of existing leaders; they fulfill the vision those leaders helped build.
This month’s theme, A Willing Heart, reminds us of Paul’s words: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give… for God loves a cheerful giver.” A willing heart does not shrink back. A willing heart steps forward. A willing heart gives generously of time, support, prayer, and mentorship.
As we celebrate 500×2025 and step into 26×26, may the Holy Spirit form in us the same willing heart found in the early church.
A heart filled by the Spirit.
A heart formed in community.
A heart ready to be sent.
Come Holy Spirit.
Make our hearts willing—today.
What is 26x26?
A focused initiative for 2026.
26×26 is WorkLight’s 2026 priority to see 26 Challenge Weekends hosted and delivered with excellence—so more people encounter God, grow in community, and return to their workplaces activated.
This is not growth for growth’s sake. It’s a stewardship goal—aligning our chapters, leaders, and partners around a shared direction that supports participant transformation and strengthens local movements.
